Christmas tree lighting

Last night we went downtown to see the tree lighting. It was really neat. It's a live tree in the plaza.

A day at U of A

The boys at the U of A. We had a picnic of PB & J but as you can see, Cooper prefers tree bark. Deven liked climbing trees instead of cacti which are his only option at home.

We went to the Train Museum in town today. It was cool, and FREE. Deven got to ring the bell. Then we walked to 4th Ave and took a trolley ride over to the U of A. It was a fun filled day. Enjoy the pics.

Cooper has four upper teeth now. they came in late but they came in fast. Now he has one coming in on the bottom too. We are playing our 2nd favorite game where we tough fingers after each bite. His favorite game is being chased. EH can do that for as long as you care to chase him. Deven likes to chase so it works out well.

Turkey day parade

We went to a friends office to watch the thanksgiving day parade. We had a blast. Once again I, Brock, father of the year stuck my foot in my mouth. Of course Ft. Bliss was represented and when the Avenger drove by I said to Zev, "those things used to shoot down your mommy." Of course what did we hear last night from Zev "what were those things that shot down mommy?" Great!

Zev biked 2 miles today!

We did a two mile victim walk today and Zev biked the whole way. He did great!

Mom's visit

Well Mom came and visited last weekend. We had a blast and an action packed weekend. Mom arrived on Friday night. After picking her up from the airport we ended up heading home so that Brock and Zev could get her up early the next morning and go block walking for Joe Moody who is running for state rep. (see Zev campaining on Sept 8 post)

After block walking we came back and let Zev and Mom take a nap. Ok, Monica tried laying down with him but couldn't get him to sleep, but we all know it sounds better if i say "Mom took a nap with Zev." When we finally got her up, we threw her on a bike and rode to the Tulane and UTEP football game. Everyone was having a blast untill it started to rain. Then we biked home!

Next day we went to the New Mexico Farm and Ranch Museum in Las Cruces. Monica and Zev had fun dressing up. After that we went to the corn maze and went on a tractor ride to get pumpkins. It was a fun day!

Hat off Baby

As everyone knows, we read books to Zev every night. Last night we read this book that is a flap book. It walks you through undressing this baby and when you say hat off there is a flap on that page with a hat on it and under it a picture of the baby w/out a hat. I don't know why but Zev thought it was hillarious last night when I got to the part about the pants coming off and the diaper off. This is him and his tired laugh.

Zev was outside on the patio having a blast. He was doing "underdog" on the patio. It was extremely cute.

Monica let Zev and I out of the house yesterday. So we went to the park where he did a face plant in the sand.

The Flood of '08 (Flood #2, Recovery Efforts, 1st Flood)

Here go a few of the photos we took the night of the flood and afterwards.

This was a few hours into the night---the water extraction man was here. Diane and Allen were here helping me move things off the floor. The pink shoes and the toes with the great pedi belong to Diane.

The big blue hose is from his truck in the driveway----really noisy until 2:30 am. How anyone slept I don't know.

Digging in yard update

Well Monica and I finished out drain today! She was mixing and working cement. It was a blast and Monica and Zev were a huge help. Zev insisted on spraying the water to mix with the cement. Take a look at the pics....

Digging in the Yard!

Well, we finally got the trench dug...It took all day Saturday and Sunday. We rented a trencher and dug 120 feet of trench. It was hot!

The picture with all the water is the yard before we dug. The others are pretty self explanatory. Luckily we got it dug last weekend, its been pouring ever since.
